I enjoyed this story a lot. My favorite aspect is what you decided the witch would use as the opportune time(during an earthquake) to give the King what he desires. This was very creative! The plot in your story is well-written and the timeline is too. I feel really bad for Roger because he is a good son and prince, but gets the raw end of the deal because of it. It is important that you emphasized the witch’s words which will be Roger’s saving grace. I think that it would do your story wonders to break it up into shorter sections and it would flow really well if you were to write completely in past tense instead of both present and past. Take a look at your 5th and 6th sentences in the first paragraph to see what I mean. I think you capitalized on Roger’s likability throughout your story, so your readers will all feel that way.
